Lichens of Lough Corrib

This was the embarkation point for our boat trips to the islands. In the Bog at the side of the pathway by the boathouse there was one unique looking lichen growing and we photographed this as it look so unusual. It turned out to be Cladonia Bellidiflora which according to the literature is rare outside of the Scottish Highlands but it was growing abundantly in various clumps in the bog here.
